Roof top tent on a passenger car

You don't need a large 4x4 for a roof top tent. A roof top tent also fits on a regular passenger car or station wagon, such as a VW Golf, a Volvo V60, or a Skoda Octavia. All that matters is the correct roof rack and sufficient roof load.

For a passenger car, pay extra attention to the dynamic roof load, which is the weight the roof can carry while driving. This is often lower for a passenger car than for a van or 4x4.
